Happy New Year, family and friends!

This year, our travel resolution was to spend more time visiting the top destinations on our list. So, staying true to our New Year's resolution, we started 2015 off the right way - in Hawaii!

From its beaches and rainforests, to its volcanoes and wildlife - words cannot accurately describe how beautiful and incredible the Big Island of Hawaii is.
We started our adventure in Kona, where we enjoyed world famous Kona coffee and spent time at the beach before swimming and snorkeling (spotting many fish, eels and Hawaiian green sea turtles, then whales) off the coast.
We headed to the northeastern part of the island near Hilo next, stopping to hike through rainforests, where we found beautiful natural wonders like orchids and waterfalls.
Finally, we traveled to the Kau District and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where we hiked through a lava tube and visited the caldera of Kīlauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes.

The island is truly an explorer's paradise! It was hard to come back home after so much fun in the sun, but we have enough Kona coffee and macadamia nuts to last us until summer, and we're looking forward to planning another visit soon. Aloha and mahalo, Hawaii!
