Whidbey Island Roadtrip

We began the day like any other, but our casual Saturday morning turned into a spontaneous adventure up and around the Washington coast this past weekend.

We were itching to get out of Seattle, but couldn't agree on when or where to go, so we grabbed breakfast, jumped in the car and decided to drive.

We found ourselves headed up north, and along the way, the clouds parted, the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful Spring day - so we decided to take advantage of the weather and stopped in La Conner, Washington to view its famous tulip fields.

We were told about how breathtaking the sight of hundreds of acres of tulips would be, but they were even more beautiful close up.

I could have spent the entire day shooting photo there, but luckily, my husband was there to help keep us on schedule to our now planned trip to Whidbey Island.

So, we continued on our way and traveled from the tulip fields over to Fidalgo Island, then to Whidbey, which was full of beautiful evergreens, lakes and a great view of the bay at Deception Pass.

We then traveled onward and took in the sights as we traveled down to Clinton, to catch the 5:30 p.m. ferry back to the mainland.

It was a quick trip, but we loved every minute of it!

I look forward to hearing from you!
